SYNOPSIS

In 1840, in the aftermath of the Portuguese Civil War, a young man arrived in a Douro village and brought with him a book full of stories. Following the teachings of this book, the people of Granja do Tedo founded a social and religious movement that would last seven years, led by Maria Coroada, who called herself “Third Eve, by Jesus Crowned”. Based on a true story, Amândio Anastácio and João Garcia Miguel bring back the echoes of this event from the past and explore the origin of this enchantment and human ability to speak to the gods within us.
