VIDRO PANTERA – Shards of Heiner Müller
A co-creation by Alma d’Arame and Teatro de Ferro
SYNOPSIS
In the year that marks 30 years since the death of the German playwright (deceased on 30 December 1995), we decided to create a lightning tour of Heiner Müller’s universe. Fragments of his poetry and theatre will animate bodies, objects and, perhaps, puppets. Panzerglas is the German word for bulletproof glass, or armoured glass. Panther is the name of the most fearsome German armoured car (panzer) of the Second World War. This is how the title came to be, a poetic appropriation, “lost (and found) in translation”, found in the creative exercise of translation, in which the images of fragility and ferocity come together to create, or discover, latent meanings.
