17th Montemor-o-Novo International Puppet Festival (2025)

The years go by. And we continue to believe that one of the keys to a fairer and freer world has been and will be art. So here we are for another International Puppetry Meeting in Montemor-o-Novo.
This is a meeting that expands beyond the territory of Montemor, without borders, without limits between people and countries, in the conviction that we live better all and with all, in the diversity that unites us.
The 17th Montemor-o-Novo International Puppetry Meeting will be a meeting of micro revolutions, with puppets, theatre, performances, music, exhibitions and talks, where the motto will be FREEDOM in all its meaning. In increasingly turbulent and uncertain times, it is urgent that we affirm fraternity, love and solidarity as paths to the future through art.
We’ll have creations from Belgium, Portugal, France, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Jordan and the Czech Republic who will be presenting shows about true stories, revolutions in our collective lives, wars, autobiographies, nature, conscience, dystopias, interactivity and the future, among many other human issues.
An intergenerational meeting in various parts of the city in a festive atmosphere, where everyone is welcome, and which we want to help us reflect on the question of what it means to be human.
