10th Traditional Puppet Festival — 2026

Alma d’Arame returns to the Feira da Luz in Montemor-o-Novo for yet another event where puppets once again take to the public stage, delighting young and old alike and proving that the tradition is still very much alive.

From 4 to 6 September, the 10th edition of the Traditional Puppet Festival brings together artists and companies from Portugal and Venezuela for three days of Teatro de Robertos, Teatro Lambe-Lambe, the customary opening street performance and a children’s workshop.

And because some numbers deserve to be celebrated, this year sees the convergence of two special dates: the 10th edition of the Festival and the 20th anniversary of Alma d’Arame. Half of our journey is marked here. We’re counting on you!
